Bow Sights
Compound bow sights are one of the most important bow hunting supplies, directly influencing the accuracy and precision of your shot. Even the best compound bows will prove worthless if their bow sights are inadequate. You’ll find state-of-the-art hunting bow sights from all of the industry’s leading manufacturers, including Apex, HHA and Truglo. At GreatAmericanHunting.com, we offer an array of hunting bow sights, allowing you to pick the design best suited to your hunting style. Look below for an overview of the four major categories of compound bow sights.
Types of Bow Sights
- Pin Bow Sights: The most common and easiest to use bow sights. These hunting bow sights have several pins, offering a high amount of flexibility when adjusting for distance.
- Moveable Pin Bow Sights: These compound bow sights only have one pin, requiring you to slide the housing to adjust for the distance of the shot. Because of this movement, hunters using this type of bow sight will generally leave it in one spot and compensate accordingly for changes in distance.
- Pendulum Bow Sights: These bow sights automatically compensate when you are shooting from an elevated position, making them ideal for shooting from a tree or other perch. This convenience comes at a price, however, as they aren’t as apt for ground and long-range shooting.
- Competition Bow Sights: As their name suggests, these bow sights are typically reserved for competitions. They have the highest level of accuracy but their size, cost and complexity makes hunting with them impractical.
